Useful information for our foreign audiences

F/T recently organized a special orientation event for foreign audiences in Tokyo who wanted to learn more about the month-long interactive theatre piece, "The Complete Manual of Evacuation".

Akira Takayama's work starts online, where audiences go to a special website, hinan-manual.com, to access a map based on Tokyo's circular JR Yamanote Line. By choosing a station you then get a map for where to go to visit a special location ("Evacuation Point") in the area.

F/T is only a few weeks away now, and part of the Festival are the satellite events before and during the festival period, chances for audiences to get closer to the creators.

One of the greatest frustrations of any theatre fan - or just people looking for entertainment in a foreign land - is not being able fully to appreciate what's happening on stage. If visuals and the thrill of live drama can often cross over language divides, sadly dialogue mostly cannot. However, F/T is a vigorously international affair and this autumn's edition is no different.
