Director
Born in 1971, in West Java, Indonesia. Graduated from Pendidikan Bahasa and Sastra Indonesia IKIP Bandung. He also was enrolled in a master's degree program in the directing faculty of Russian Academy of the Theater Art (GITIS) in Moscow. He has been involved in the theatre field since 1990, including at at Teater Mahasiswa IKIP Bandung (now Teater Lakon), where he was elected leader of student theatre. After this he was also a pioneer in establishing Mainteater Bandung. In 1995, he was selected as a representative of Indonesian student theatre community's activities at the Festival of Australian Student Theatre (FAST) at Latrobe University, Melbourne. In 1998, he moved from Bandung to Banten and became a lecturer in drama and theatre at Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa (Untirta), establishing a student theatre community, Teater Kafe Ide, with the late Wan Anwar. From 2002 to 2006 he worked in Moscow, attending theatre training, especially at the Chekhov International Theater IV, World Theater Olympiad I (2001) and the Chekhov International Theater Festival V (2003). After he returned to Indonesia, he established the professional theatre company Indonesia Theatre of Studio. He won the top award at the Federasi Teater Indonesia in 2009 and took part in FETA in Poland in 2010. He participated in the Jakarta Biennale in 2011, and Indonesia Theatre of Studio's production "The Bionarration of a Disjointed Body! (Emergency)" won the F/T Award at the F/T Emerging Artists Program 2012. He died in October 2013.
