Takuya Murakawa
Director
Born in 1982 in Shiga prefecture and graduated from Kyoto University of Art and Design in 2005. He was attached to Chiten until 2009, working as an assistant director. Since going solo he has worked as a director with a diverse output, including documentaries and fieldwork. In 2010 he created a promenade theatre piece based on the texts of ethnologist Tsuneichi Miyamoto. His "Zeitgeber" (Geisou CONNECT Vol.5 Prize 2012) was part of the F/T11 Emerging Artists Program and he also made a recent documentary "Oki e" (To the Open Sea) (2012). He also presented "Mujinto" (Uninhabited Island) (later title changed to "Taiwa" [Dialogue]) at CONNECT Vol.5.
