Conceived, Directed and Performed by SPICE
Electronic meets pop. East meets West. Experience a whole new kind of musical fusion.
Building on its established record for introducing the cutting edge of youth and millennial culture in China, not least with its showcase at the F/T17 Asia Series, F/T presents an incredible performance by Hangzhou-based SPICE. Comprising the Chinese artist chenchenchen and American musician Eli Levi, this psychedelic electronic group weaves together a potent mix of experimental electronica and pop, unique and mysterious sounds fusing Eastern sensibilities with Western culture, and philosophical lyrics. The performance is an adaptation of the group’s science fiction comic of the same name and here receives its world premiere in Tokyo. Science fiction is currently booming in China, while sci-fi novels and movies are also attracting huge audiences around the world. Against this backdrop, SPICE conjures up a whole new kind of SF spectacle using video, music, and live performance. The result is a sensory feast for both the eyes and ears.
